A while back the official London 2012 website released a list of unauthorised websites supposedly selling tickets for the 2012 Olympic Games happening in London over the summer. www.2012-londonsummergames.org is on the list and so you SHOULDN’T BUY from this website as they will take your money and do a runner.

Some of you may have spotted the link in the sidebar to a website url: www.budgethotelsyork.co.uk well I can confirm that this is my new website and I encourage you to check it out (when it is finished of course). Just thought I would give anyone who is interested a heads up about my new project.

As part of the lead up to London 2012 I thought I would do some posts on the best merchandise available which super fans of the Olympic Games can buy. So to kick things off I thought I would begin with the Official London 2012 50p Collection by the Royal Mint.
There are 29 in total (one for each sport) and you can buy them individually for around £2.99 or buy some of them together for a discount.
To give you a bit of background about the coins: there was a competition that launched in January 2009 which encouraged the people of Britain to send in their designs of the 50p coins for all the different Olympic and Paralympic Sports. The winning designs were there put onto coins which you can now buy.
These coins are brilliant mementoes of London 2012 and are great presents for fans of the Olympic Games! Plus they will be so much more cheaper online than if you buy when you visit London during or in the build up to the games.

Interesting article from the BBC which talks about Prince Harry having a 100m race with Usain Bolt during his visit to Jamaica.
Apparently Prince Harry won the race but then again it does say Usain Bolt “jogged after him” while he was laughing.

So you’re coming to London in August for the Olympic Games, you’ve booked your Hotel, Flights and have tickets for the games. You’re excited already andlooking forward to spending some time around London as well after or before the games.
Well, why not go and see a West End Musical while you’re there?! This is the perfect opportunity and if you book early you can secure tickets at very cheap prices (often up to 50% off the normal selling price).
Anyone who’s been to London before will know that it is not a cheap place and tickets alone can be very costly, which is why I am telling you about a website called www.DiscountTheatre.com which offer tickets to West End Shows such as We Will Rock you, Thriller, Chicago, Shrek the Musical and Wicked!
There is also a very useful search function on the website where you can select how many tickets you want, for which show, whether you want an Evening or Matinee Performance and the date. The website then gives a list of available performances and you can book the tickets there and then through the website.
It is also worth noting that there are Ticket Deals, Meal Deals and Hotel Deals which can save you lots of money!

With the latest news about people missing out on tickets for the Olympic Games being held in London this year, I thought it only right to warn people about the increasing number of fake websites offering tickets to the most sought after events of the games this year: such as the men’s 100m finals.
I must make this very clear: these websites are fake and scam you for your money! Event though they look very official and are well marketed, they have no link to the Official London 2012 Governing Body and they will take your cash and run!
The Official website is the ONLY website you should look on to find where to buy tickets from authorised sites! They have also helpfully posted a list of websites who they know to be selling fake tickets and ones that are scamming people!!
Don’t be one of those people who sends loads of money on tickets, only to find out that the website was faked and that you’ve been scammed!
